Welcome to Vicksburg Voices, a storytelling project dedicated to celebrating the unique stories of our community through the lens of health equity. Here, you’ll find narratives that highlight the rich cultural tapestry of Vicksburg, from its historic roots to its vibrant present. This project is part of our broader efforts, inspired by the leadership of Linda Fondren, who has been a driving force in promoting health and well-being in our city.

What is the Vicksburg Bicentennial?
In 2025, the community will celebrate the Vicksburg Bicentennial, honoring 200 years of our community’s rich history. This milestone is a time to reflect on our past, celebrate our present, and embrace the future by recognizing the vibrant voices that make Vicksburg unique.
What is Vicksburg Voices?
Vicksburg Voices is an initiative that will highlight the diverse stories and talents of our community members. We welcome artists, musicians, storytellers, and anyone eager to share their perspectives as we prepare for the Bicentennial celebration.
Our work will center on stories related to Education, Economic Empowerment, Untold Stories, Health and Wellness, Community Resilience, Cultural Heritage, Reflection, and Celebration.
How Can You Get Involved?
We invite you to join us in several ways:
1. Share Your Story: Contribute your personal experiences or anecdotes that highlight the history and culture of Vicksburg. We want to celebrate the diverse narratives that make our community special.
2. Participate in Events: Join us for upcoming events celebrating the Bicentennial. Attend parades, festivals, and gatherings where you can connect with others and share in the festivities.
